‘A Vase of Arranged Flowers in a Wild Garden - Yellow’ and ‘A Vase of Arranged Flowers in a Wild Garden - Olive’ are two new silkscreen editions by Bruce Mclean to mark the artist’s 80th birthday on 6th November, as well as the 10th anniversary of Worton Hall Studios.

The prints are part of an ongoing body of work that sees the artist present structured compositions of still life scenes which feature ceramic objects he has created, allowing the viewer to consider encountering the same subject matter in print or paint and in sculpture.

By immortalising his ceramic creations in a two-dimensional form, Mclean continues to explore a new context for the 3D pieces by presenting a composition within a composition, questioning establishment thinking as well as methods of display; an idea that has been a running theme in Mclean’s work throughout his career.

The new editions also incorporate elements of a previous series of works that feature designs of fauna and flora as seen in his much loved garden-inspired works.

‘A Vase of Arranged Flowers in a Wild Garden - Yellow’ and ‘A Vase of Arranged Flowers in a Wild Garden - Olive’ are screen prints on Somerset Satin Tub sized 410gsm with hand painted embellishments in editions of 25 and will be available to purchase from Wednesday 6th November.

Prints from the series will be gifted to McLean’s chosen charity ‘Cure Parkinson’s’.
