Helen Downie is a London based artist, best known for her
idiosyncratic and expressive style of painting. Working under the
moniker of Unskilled Worker, her paintings are both intimate and
evocative, mixing characters and nature with the ephemeral and
fantastical.
Downie’s work has been exhibited
widely, including the Minsheng Art Museum, Shanghai; D Museum, Seoul;
Aki Atelier Gallery, Hong Kong and at Hauser & Wirth and Flowers
Gallery in London. Her most recent solo show titled ‘One Cup of
Sugar’ opened at Luca Tommasi Arte in Milan in April 2022
